What storage can do

Solar self-use

Store daytime solar generation and use it in the evening.

Off-peak charging

Charge from the grid on an off-peak tariff and use that energy later.

Backup, where supported

Some systems can power selected circuits in a power cut. This depends on the battery, inverter and installation.

EV charging

Make stored energy available as part of a suitable home EV charging setup.

Battery installation must be carried out by a qualified, accredited electrician. Grid connection notification (G98/G99) and export payments (Smart Export Guarantee requires an MCS-certified installation) are handled by your installer.
